mwegSittwe (mwewBirmano: စစ္‌တ္ဝေမ္ရုိ့; MLCTS: mwfasac twe mrui conosciuta precedentemente come mwfqAkyab) è il capoluogo dello mwfgStato Rakhine, suddivisione amministrativa della mwfwBirmania (Myanmar). Ha 147.899 abitanti secondo il censimento del mwga2014.

Sittwe è situata su un'isola alla confluenza dei fiumi Kaladan, Mayu e Lemyo. Originalmente un piccolo villaggio di mwhqpescatori, Sittwe diventò un importante centro di mwhgcommercio fluviale, specialmente come porto per le esportazioni di mwhwriso dopo l'occupazione mwiabritannica dell'mwiqArakan, dopo la mwigprima guerra anglo-birmana. Nel mwiw1826 divenne capitale dell'Arakan e la sua popolazione passò dai 15.536 del mwja1826, ai 31.687 del mwjq1901. Durante l'occupazione coloniale aveva una cattiva reputazione per le continue epidemie di mwjgmalaria e mwjwcolera.
